Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Officially Changes Gojo's Ending Forever

Gojo Satoru was a very important character in the original Jujutsu Kaisen story. Initially, Gojo made his debut in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 2, which was officially released on March 12, 2018, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump issue 15. Gojo then went on to become the most popular character in the entire franchise and its face globally. Gojo's cool demeanor and immense strength meant that he was loved all over the world, which is why his end caused immense grief for fans all over the world.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236, officially released on September 25, 2023, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 43, Gojo Satoru met his official end at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. Back then, this was believed to be Gojo's end, but his legacy has still been carried on by the next generation, and the world that he once envisioned is now finally coming to fruition. With Gojo's dream finally being fulfilled, all that he did in his life to pave the way up to it is only being held in higher regard. His sacrifice, which paved the way for the new era to flourish, is now actively changing how fans are looking at his character's ending.

Right from the get-go, Gege Akutami made it quite clear that Gojo Satoru was simply too strong for the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. This is precisely why Gojo was often cut out from the plot in a plethora of ways, be it through a barrier or by being sealed away completely.
