The Black Bulls are the main Magic Knight Squad that we follow throughout the run of the Black Clover story. That is because Asta, our main protagonist, is a part of them. The Black Bulls squad has gone through massive changes and exceptional growth. By the end of the story, the characters that stand as the very strongest of the group have shifted quite a bit, and a new era of the Black Bulls has begun as well.

Vanessa is one of the oldest members of the Black Bulls squad. She is known as a high-ranking witch, and it's through her heritage that she stands out in power. Vanessa was born with Thread Magic. At the beginning of the series, that power seemed a lot simpler, allowing her to create and control threads in battle. However, during the Witch's Forest arc, the true extent of her powers was unveiled.

Her threads aren't just simple threads; they can control fate itself. After awakening her powers, the red cat of fate was born. Vanessa can rewrite reality and make it so that a fatal hit is actually missed. Her only disadvantage comes with the massive mana consumption that her ability requires. She would rank a lot higher if her stamina improved. For now, Vanessa stands as the new Vice Captain of the Black Bulls. She acquired this position after Yami's retirement as Captain and Nacht’s promotion to the position of leader.

Luck has been, since his debut in Black Clover, quite an impressive member of the Black Bulls squad.
