Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Akutami Officially Brings Back Gojo In New Release

On September 30, 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen marked its conclusion with the release of Chapter 271 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 44. This chapter also marked the beginning of a new era in the Jujutsu world after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown arc, which saw some of the biggest fights in the series unfold.

While Shinjuku Showdown eventually led to the defeat of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, the sorcerers from Japan's Jujutsu High also suffered quite a lot of losses. The biggest of them all was Gojo Satoru, the strongest modern sorcerer. Gojo ended up losing his life in JJK Chapter 236, which was officially released on September 25, 2023, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 43.

Now, Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, has finally brought back Gojo one last time in his new JJK exhibition tease. Gege has revealed never-before-seen looks of Gojo Satoru from the final arc from his latest drafts, with more to follow on December 25, as the final exhibition of Jujutsu Kaisen is finally held in Tokyo.

Gege Akutami ended Jujutsu Kaisen in September 2024, and from there onwards, he started planning for the future of the JJK world. In 2025, Gege Akutami returned with a spin-off series set 68 years after the conclusion of the original Jujutsu Kaisen story, titled JJK Modulo. This new series by Gege Akutami officially began running in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump a year later, on September 8, 2025, and it finally came to a conclusion on March 8, 2026 , in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 15.
