Sega went bigger than ever at this year’s edition of Tokyo Game Show. 

The official Sega/Atlus booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 represented Sega’s largest-ever presence at the annual conference, with a massive space dominating nearly a sixth of the central event halls at Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba City, Japan. The booth featured demos of new and upcoming Sega titles like Stranger Than Heaven, Persona 4 Revival, and Crazy Taxi: World Tour, as well as a range of smaller titles. 

In addition to the demos, Sega’s presence at TGS 2026 included a dedicated stage for panels and speaker programming and a museum dedicated to the history and aesthetics of Stranger Than Heaven. Factoring in all of its different components, Sega’s booth was the largest individual presence for any exhibitor at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

I dropped by Sega’s booth at TGS 2026 on Sept. 20 to try out some of the demos, which required repeatedly dodging and weaving my way through the bustling crowds surrounding the booth to get from one demo station to another. The Stranger Than Heaven demo showcased the game’s dynamic and evocative fighting mechanics, which were deep enough that I may or may not have required three attempts to beat its boss battle. I was impressed and somewhat shaken by the game’s graphic depictions of violence, with the damage of each character’s attacks directly corresponding to the brutality of their actions. 

I had a blast playing Sega’s official demo of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which combined Crazy Taxi’s classic, fast-paced gameplay with a new system that allows players to voluntarily pick up more difficult missions for a higher payout.
