IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog Series Begins the 'Road to #100' - Fall FanFest 2006

IDW Publishing will be celebrating a major milestone in 2027, as the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog comic reaches issue #100. The publisher is already teasing the big developments to come with a new promotion called 'Road to #100.'

That push begins in earnest with Sonic the Hedgehog #94, which kicks off a new storyline focused on Surge and Kit. IGN can exclusively debut the cover art for issue #94 below:

Sonic the Hedgehog #94 is written by Daniel Barnes and Evan Stanley and drawn by Alex Forrest. Here's the official solicitation text for that issue:

The desert frontier town of Pinfall Prairie settles disputes one way: the wrestling ring. In this world of constant cheers, thrown fists, and brash words, Surge has risen quickly through the ranks with Kit by her side.

But just as she begins to enjoy the limelight, reality comes crashing in. The citizens of this town, drawn to Surge’s rebellious nature, reveal a darker truth hidden under the reign of Mama Stinkerton, their town’s current leader. Now the decision is up to Surge and Kit: continue this comfortable existence as fighters… or become true heroes.

The next mini arc on the Road to #100 starts here! You don’t want to miss this one, if you smell what the Surge is cooking!

Sonic the Hedgehog #94 will hit stores in March 2027. As an added bonus, we can also debut a new preview of issue #91 (due out on October 28) in the slideshow gallery below:
