Whether players like it or not, it’s now clear that Steam Early Access has become a pretty convenient arrangement for some developers. It is just oh so marvelous to release an unfinished game but still charge people while continuing to work on it without having to commit to a release date. Steam's Early Access program was designed specifically to allow devs to work on their projects while involving the players in the process. This is not an inherently evil idea, and Enshrouded is a good example of why, but when the development process seems to have no end in sight, the situation can become quite sticky.
