After reaching the Pavilion of Knowledge Crossroads Bell, head west to find the Cavalrybane boss, who drops the Armybreaker weapon. Once you defeat the boss, explore the arena and look to the left to find a locked door requiring the Tianxiang Pavilion Key. The key is tied to a quest from an NPC you meet later in Pangzhen, so keep exploring for now. This guide covers how to get the key and complete the quest.

The Mandate Encampment is locked when you first reach the Village of Lu. Here's where to find its key in Phantom Blade Zero.

From the Tianxiang Pavilion building, look around for the entrance to Myst's Tavern, where you need to go to progress through the main story. Once the cutscenes are over, enter the tavern and speak to the Leading Opera Actress among the gathered NPCs.

She will tell Soul a little about herself before asking him to retrieve her Dance Fan from Tianxiang Pavilion. According to her, the doorman has the key, and you can draw him out by burning some face powder in the censer down the alley near the Pavilion.

After speaking to her, you will receive Leading Actress's Rouge, which also starts the Star Performer quest. Return to Tianxiang Pavilion and use the Rouge to reveal several Ha-Ha enemies. Defeat them, and one of them will drop the Tianxiang Pavilion Key.

With the key in your possession, unlock the Tianxiang Pavilion door and enter the building.
