If you've come across Lake Hylia, then you might have seen the fishing hut already! Or, you might have crossed paths with the man in the laboratory who tells you about a reward if you manage to dive to the bottom of his pool. Regardless of the task, you're not getting what you're after unless you're Adult Link, and unless you have the Golden Scale! We'll explain everything you need to know about fishing in the Ocarina of Time remake so you can get some great rewards.
The Scarecrow Song is essential to learn in the Ocarina of Time remake for certain puzzles. Here's what you need to do to obtain it.
To begin, make sure you're playing as Adult Link. You'll also need the Scarecrow Song, which we have a guide above for. When you're Adult Link, head to Lake Hylia and play the Scarecrow Song at the entrance to the fishing hut, as you will need to summon Pierre so you can Hookshot him to grapple up.
Once you are inside the fishing hut, speak with Fishing-Pond Man and pay him 30 rupees to get the fishing rod. Remember, this is only a rental, so you'll have to return the fishing rod and pay him 30 rupees if you leave and come back.
To fish, stand as close to the center of the pond as possible, then press ZR to cast your line . To attract fish to your line, slowly tap Down on the Left Stick .
