GTA 6 Will Be Playable At Launch On PC Through Xbox Cloud Streaming

Despite being one of the most anticipated games of the year, and potentially of all time, Grand Theft Auto 6 has still faced plenty of criticism over Rockstar's decision not to release the game on both consoles and PC at the same time.

While we've been waiting months for news on when we can expect a native PC edition of GTA 6, a recent announcement confirms the game will still be playable on PC on day one. While the official workaround does avoid one of the biggest concerns preventing GTA 6 from releasing natively on PC, it does come with quite a big catch that not everyone can ignore.

As reported by Variety, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma announced in a shocking statement that "Xbox has managed to land a deal for the exclusive game streaming rights for Grand Theft Auto 6." While the report specifies "it's not clear how long the agreement will be in place," we do know for sure that PC players will be able to play GTA 6 at launch without owning a console through Xbox's PC Cloud Streaming.

A report claimed pre-orders are skewed in PS5's favor. Matthew Ball isn't having it.

The announcement also notably comes barely a month after Xbox removed unlimited Cloud Streaming from Xbox Game Pass in favor of a set number of hours each month, with paid options available for increasing them.

Despite Xbox itself claiming only a fraction of players made use of this feature in the first place, the numbers are likely to skyrocket after GTA 6's release, considering it will be the only way to play the game on PC for the foreseeable future.
