GTA 6 Promo Offers Spectrum Customers Free 1GB Internet Boost

GTA 6 demands a hefty amount of hard drive real estate before you can play it—a whopping 212GB, to be exact. Even with a solid internet connection, you'll be waiting a while before you can step foot in Leonida. Thankfully, in the US, one internet service provider has a solution.

As reported by Dexerto, Spectrum is offering a free 1GBps boost to its 31 million customers, so long as they have compatible equipment and eligible plans.

"The most anticipated game in the world is almost ready to download, and Spectrum is treating eligible customers to a free Gig Speed Lift, November 9 to 30, that will have them cruising Vice City before the rest of the block finishes downloading," the announcement reads. "No cost, and no strings attached."

Eligible customers can expect up to 1GBps of download speed during the promo period, while those who already pay for 1GBps will receive a limited upgrade to 2GBps.

Spectrum promises that customers using the boost will be able to download GTA 6 "in less than 30 minutes." Of course, that's entirely dependent on your connection type, location, console download servers, network conditions, etc.

For the rest of us, it could be as quick as one hour, or as bad as waiting three. I'd say pop a game on while you wait, but it'll just make it take even longer.

As broken down in the announcement, if you are an eligible Spectrum customer, it's pretty simple to take advantage of this promo:
