Green Lantern: Every Lantern Color, Ranked From Weakest to Strongest

Green Lantern Hal Jordan arrived in the DC Universe with Showcase #22 in October of 1959, and it changed DC forever. Alan Scott was the original Green Lantern, but Hal took the concept in a more cosmic direction rather than the mystical adventures that were Alan's wheelhouse. Green Lanterns were the only Lantern Corps for quite a while, as Sinestro and Star Sapphire were solo operators without their own Corps at the time.

However, things changed in the 2000s, and the Green Lantern corner of the DC Universe exploded with Lantern colors from every shade of the rainbow and beyond. With some exceptions, each of these colors is tied to an overriding emotion. Many of the Lantern colors share abilities, but most of them have a unique ability that sets them apart from the other shades. Some of them are much more powerful than others, with Green Lanterns not even being the most powerful Lantern color anymore.

There have been two Mauve Lanterns in DC Comics. One is from Ambush Bug: Year None #2 and had the secret identity of Don Gaye Apparel. He was the herald for an entity called Mr. Nebula, who was some sort of cosmic being overseeing fashion. The more recent Mauve Lantern appeared in Lobo #3 (2026) and went by the name Francis Dalex.

The more recent Mauve Lantern flunked out of being a Green Lantern, but his overwhelming happiness transformed his Green Lantern ring into the Mauve Lantern ring. He had the misfortune of visiting Czarnia before its demise and meeting a young Lobo.
