Grand Theft Auto 6 Launch Trailer Was Changed for TV: Here Are All the Differences

Rockstar has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into creating Grand Theft Auto 6. With its release date now closer than ever, the company is focusing its resources on promoting it. A commercial version of the recent GTA 6 launch trailer is now airing on TV, and eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed some changes, even if they were very slight.

Reports indicate that two versions of Grand Theft Auto 6's launch trailer are now airing on NBC. One commercial is a 30-second version of the trailer, which cuts Jason and Lucia's steamy shower scene and includes a few extended scenes; the other is 90 seconds long and features the shower scene as well as the extended scenes, but cuts out the "play best on PS5" image shown at the start of the trailer. Here are the scenes that have been slightly extended and what has been added:

The extended scenes are shown consecutively after the shower scene, and each one is about 1–2 seconds longer. There is nothing that particularly stands out about them, unfortunately.

The TV commercial doesn't feature the Xbox logo, similar to the original version of the launch trailer, which is available on YouTube and the Rockstar website. It is believed that the reason behind this is a marketing deal between Sony and Rockstar . To watch the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer without encountering overt Sony marketing, you have to download it from the Rockstar website — this version of the trailer doesn't have the "play best on PS5" promotional image and shows both the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 logos.
