God Of War Laufey Delayed

Santa Monica Studios has delayed God of War Laufey. The new God of War game for PS5 is no longer set for release in February 2027, and has shifted to May 2027.

The game will now launch on May 20, 2027, which is a delay of about three months from its original February 16, 2027 release date.

"We will make the most of each moment until then by putting in the finishing touches and pushing the game to its fullest potential," the developer said. "On behalf of everyone on the team, we appreciate your patience and we'll be back to share more updates soon."

God of War Laufey stars Deborah Ann Woll as Faye. Starring alongside Woll is The Boys actor Jack Quaid, who plays a gelatinous cube named Phranque.

Compared to Kratos and his skillful application of brute force to help solve problems, Faye is far more graceful and nimble. Like the previous games, God of War Laufey is a third-person action experience built around chaining together various skills and weapons to dish out tremendous amounts of damage.

You can see the game in action in the gameplay trailer below.

A new Kratos-led game is coming after that, and it will pick up where Laufey left off.
