Get a Switch 2-Ready 512GB MicroSD Express Card for $85

If you have a Nintendo Switch 2, there’s a good chance you’re running low on storage. That’s because it only comes with 256GB. And with more people buying digital games than ever before, that amount can fill up fast. Thankfully, Walmart is selling a Switch 2-ready 512GB microSD Express card for $84.77 — way less than you’ll pay for that much storage elsewhere (for reference, Amazon has a SanDisk one for $129.99). This card is almost never in stock, so grab it while it's available.

Onn is Walmart’s in-house brand, and this card has a great customer rating, and our review calls it, and I quote, "fine." Since microSD Express cards have no moving parts, they’re generally quite reliable – I’ve never had any trouble with one. All you have to do is put it in your Switch 2, format it as a storage device, and you can start downloading games from the eShop onto it immediately.

In prior years, the price of storage would reliably go down as time marched on, but then AI came along and AI companies started buying up most of the world’s supply of storage for data centers, and RAMageddon or whatever you want to call it began. Storage prices have been going up since late last year, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be coming down anytime soon, if ever.

Which is a huge bummer, because in the 4K era, games take up more storage than ever before. For instance, the Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth takes up nearly 100GB of storage, which is nearly half of what comes on Nintendo’s console.
