Carley spends her free time gaming with her husband, scoping out breweries and wineries, playing with her cat Momo, and writing self-indulgent fanfiction. The legendary anime series Fullmetal Alchemist is headed to Universal Studios Japan in 2027, along with original author Hiromu Arakawa's ongoing work Daemons of the Shadow Realm. The original Fullmetal Alchemist anime series first appeared at the theme park in Osaka in 2005, marking USJ's first collaboration with an anime series and paving the way for many more collabs to come. To celebrate 25 years of the Elric brothers in 2027, a huge celebration is on the way, and fans won't want to miss it.
In the early 2010s, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry kicked off the 'Cool Japan' initiative, which aimed to fuel international interest in Japan by focusing on mediums like anime, video games, manga, and more. While the official project itself saw varying degrees of success before concluding this year, it led to a number of popular collabs and crossovers, and while the government's hand in Cool Japan has ceased, its goal lives on. Universal Studios Japan continues to use the moniker, and for Universal Cool Japan 2027, fans can look forward to some exciting additions to the park.
We all know that these Fullmetal Alchemist characters deserved way better than what they got.
Universal Studios Japan has announced that both Fullmetal Alchemist and Daemons of the Shadow Realm will be featured throughout the park in 2027, with guests able to physically enter the worlds of both series via immersive experiences.
