Four Teams Chase One Worlds 2026 Swiss Ticket

Worlds 2026 begins on October 16 at 3:00 a.m. KST, with four teams opening the League of Legends championship at Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The Play-In runs through October 19, but only one team will claim a place in the 16-team Swiss Stage, making the opening bracket a short route with no room for a slow start.

The tournament moves from Play-In to Swiss and then Knockout, with the Swiss Stage starting October 24 in Allen, Texas. That route also sets up a regional record chase: LCK teams have won 10 of the 15 previous World Championships, and another victory would extend the region’s run of titles since 2022 to five consecutive years.

The opening series pits North America’s Cloud9 Kia against EMEA’s Karmine Corp. Brazil’s FURIA then faces Asia-Pacific representative MVK Esports at 8:00 a.m. KST. Every Play-In series is best-of-five, and the four-team bracket uses double elimination, so a single defeat does not end a team’s run.

Karmine Corp is making its World Championship debut after finishing runner-up at both the LEC Versus season kickoff event and Spring Split. Its top and mid lanes feature former LCK players Canna (Kim Chang-dong) and kyeahoo (Kang Ye-hoo); Cloud9 Kia’s corresponding slots are held by Thanatos (Park Seung-gyu) and Loki (Lee Sang-min).

Cloud9 Kia arrives after finishing first in the LCS Spring Regular Season with a 7-0 record, then securing qualification with a 3-1 win over LYON in the Summer Playoffs. FURIA qualified for MSI in Daejeon as Brazil’s Split 1 champion and enters as the CBLOL’s No.
