Forget Zelda—Winds of Viridia Is More Like Black Myth: Wukong in Ghibli Getup

The recent Nintendo Indie World showcase was packed with indie games that simply look too fun to pass up, but the one that caught my eye more than the rest was Shark Jump and Matt Trobbiani's Winds of Viridia, a gorgeous action-adventure game that, at first, looked like what would happen if Studio Ghibli developed a Zelda-like. Based on what was shown in the trailer, the world design and exploration side of things truly does make it look like something closer to Breath of the Wild but with a different coat of paint. However, after spending around half an hour with its brief but meaty demo, I'm here to tell you that Winds of Viridia isn't like Zelda at all.
