The latest update for Final Fantasy 14, Patch 7.57, was released following 24 hours of server maintenance that temporarily prevented players from accessing the game. The new Final Fantasy 14 content patch is part of a busy October schedule for Square Enix's critically acclaimed MMORPG.
Final Fantasy 14’s 7.57 content patch arrived over a month after Patch 7.56 went live on September 8. Patch 7.56 saw the release of the Beastmaster Limited Job, along with some new main story quests to tide players over until Evercold launches in January. The September patch also fixed some outstanding issues with the Occult Crescent: North Horn field operation zone, along with some problems exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 game client.
A major Final Fantasy 40th anniversary celebration confirms a rollout throughout 2027.
Although server maintenance caused Final Fantasy 14 players to have less time to complete the Final Fantasy 15 crossover event , the update introduced a feature for some players to utilize once the game came back online at 6:00 AM Eastern. 57 is called Same-region Player Matching, which is currently only available to players in the Japanese data centers of Elemental, Gaia, Mana, and Meteor. This new system allows players within the same geographical region to use a shared Duty Finder and Party Finder without needing to travel to other data centers or servers just to find a group. The updated player matching system will smooth out wait times when using Duty Roulette or when queuing up for specific boss encounters.
