'Evil Dead Burn' Gets Its HBO Max Streaming Date Just in Time for Halloween

The most recent Evil Dead film is coming to HBO Max this October

Evil Dead Burn is coming to HBO Max just in time for Halloween. The latest film in the series hit theaters on July 10, 2026, going on to make $72.3 million at the box office on a $20 million budget. It scored generally positive reviews, with critics praising its scares and effects, which mostly made up for its characters falling flat.

Evil Dead Burn will stream on HBO Max starting Oct. 2. It previously became available to buy and rent on digital platforms on Aug. 4. Burn follows the Price family and their unfortunate run-in with the forces of hell. After Joseph Price accidentally removes an ancient spell that conceals a demon-killing dagger, satanic creatures come to destroy the blade, and tragedy ensues. Unlike the series’ 2013 reboot, the film directly connects to its predecessor, 2023’s Evil Dead Rise.

Evil Dead Burn was directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who previously helmed the arachnid-themed horror flick Infested. It stars Souheila Yacoub (Climax, Dune: Part Two) as Alice Price, who is mourning the loss of her husband with her in-laws when very bad things start to happen.

Sam Raimi’s original The Evil Dead was released in 1981 on a shoestring budget and became one of the most iconic cult classic films of all time, thanks to its mix of schlock, comedy, and horror. Raimi returned to direct Evil Dead 2 in 1987, which is often considered the best entry in the series.
