Everything We Saw At Nintendo’s October Indie World Showcase

Nintendo held another Indie World showcase this morning, putting a spotlight on independent projects coming to the Switch and Switch 2, and though the presentation was short, it was packed full of cool games coming to the handheld consoles. If you weren’t able to watch the showcase live, you can check out the VOD below, but if you just want to scroll through the highlights, read on.

Kicking things off is Witchbrook, a magical, town-building social sim coming to Switch and Switch 2 on January 28.

Keeping with the fantasy theme, next up is Winds of Viridia, an action survival game in a “vast, seamless” world where you’ll fight monsters and try to survive the dangers of the wild. A demo will be available later today, with the full game coming early next year.

City of None is a new puzzle-platformer from one of the co-creators of Celeste. The game is coming to Switch and Switch 2 next year.

The Journey-esque Sword of the Sea, which is coming out tomorrow, October 29, got a brief trailer showing its gorgeous desert levels.

Next up is Tenjutsu from Deepnight Games, led by the lead designer of Dead Cells. The rougelike brawler is inspired by classic anime aesthetics and is coming to Switch 2 next year.

If you’re looking for something less action-oriented and more strategic, Threads of Time looks like a throwback to the SNES-era Final Fantasy games, and it’s coming to Switch and Switch 2 next summer.
