Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s 10th anniversary final festival event includes a new teaser for Xenoverse 3 that even features everyone’s beloved John Dragon Ball.
Over the past year or so, it’s become clear just how long Bandai Namco has been preparing to announce the long-awaited Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. The first sign was when it was teased as Project Age 1000 instead of just being outright announced, but then a surprisingly early release window and plenty of interviews and gameplay footage showed how long it was cooking.
Perhaps the biggest sign, though, is how Xenoverse 2’s Future Saga chapter, the game’s final story DLC, directly tied into the next game in the series. That expansion ended with Fu and our hero taking a peek into the future of West City, but it looks like that teaser was originally meant to include a second half that’s just been added to the game.
As highlighted by Twitter user SLOplays and originally shared by ContonMods, a new cutscene has been added to the Gallery of Time in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s latest update. The scene shows Fu and the player actually exploring West City instead of just seeing a single shot that was already featured in the game’s reveal trailer.
Two hours with Xenoverse 3’s Parallel Quests made me sure that the full game is absolutely going to ruin my life.
Fu’s quick look at West City ends with him running into a gorgeously animated John Dragon Ball, who has clearly just shown up in the city himself.
