Dragon Ball Super's Toyotarou Unveils Frieza's Strongest Soldier

The Frieza Force is one of the most dangerous organizations in the multiverse. For decades, Frieza's personal army effectively conquered all of Universe 7, subjugating planet after planet as he bent Dragon Ball's races to his will. While Frieza has no qualms wiping out entire species, he's a businessman first and foremost, and makes a habit of recruiting the strongest warriors alive into the Frieza Force – he was even ready to bring Goku on-board as his new number 2 on Namek.

Despite how evil he is, Frieza inspires a genuine loyalty in the people who serve him. Captain Ginyu sincerely admired Frieza, and the modern day Frieza Force has a surprisingly cordial relationship with their leader. While Ginyu was long believed to be the second-strongest member of the Frieza Force, Dragon Ball Super’s Toyotarou has dropped a bombshell of a lore reveal – debuting Frieza’s real right-hand man.

The Black Frieza Saga will change Dragon Ball Super's status quo, finally bringing the timeline past the End of Z with eight confirmed chapters.

Every month, Toyotarou draws new art of a Dragon Ball character, transformation, or redesign, often hinting at story arcs to come. For his 100th entry, he debuted a new Elderly Goku design based on a drawing from Akira Toriyama during the manga's debut – a clear signifier that Dragon Ball Super will be entering its narrative endgame when the manga comes out of hiatus.
