Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episiode 3 was an action-packed episode that finally pitted the rest of the Z-Fighters against Beerus. With so many small battles throughout, the remake's power scaling feels a lot clearer. Shockingly, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is actually making some big changes to the series' power ranking, seriously nerfing some characters while buffing others.
There's no telling what Dragon Ball Super: Beerus' power scaling is going to look like by the end of the anime, but it's going to be fairly different from both the manga and original TV series. This is an entirely new continuity that isn't afraid to radically change Akira Toriyama's original story.
Unfortunately, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is already making some baffling changes to Akira Toriyama's original story.
Even though he was one of the strongest characters at the end of Dragon Ball Z, Gotenks falls off hard throughout Dragon Ball Super. DBS: Beerus is making it clear that there's no place for the fused fighter right out the gate. Gotenks doesn't even bother turning Super Saiyan 1 or 3, and just attacks Beerus in his base form.
Beerus naturally defeats Gotenks immediately. If nothing else, Gotenks doesn't get literally spanked this time around, but he's still beaten in a matter of seconds.
