Over the years, the Dragon Ball franchise has introduced some of the greatest and most beloved concepts to the anime industry that have ever been seen. From transformations to reality-bending Martial Arts techniques, the impact that this franchise has had on anime and fiction as a whole simply can't be understated.
One of the best of these aspects that isn't really followed by many other franchises is the idea of fusion. By taking the strength of two warriors and adding them together, the resulting amalgamation exists as a singularly powerful being who is able to utilize the strength and techniques of both of their constituents. And so, let's break down the most important fusions in Dragon Ball.
Every universe in the Tournament of Power had powerful fighters, but only one from each ended up being their strongest and most important.
The Potara Earrings fusion method was introduced as the one used most by the Kai, in whose case the fusion is typically permanent. This was seen through the formation of Kibito Kai, when Shin and his attendant, Kibito, each put on a Potara Earring to eventually merge into a relatively powerful Kai.
In terms of overall strength, Kibito Kai made a note of how much stronger he felt, even offering to help in the battle against Buu. However, the power gap between him and the villain was still far too great. Ultimately, the formation of Kibito Kai was a huge turning point for the series, since the fusion was seen as the first instance of showing what the Potara Earrings were capable of.
