Dragon Ball: 5 Strongest Saiyans Who Officially Surpassed Yamoshi, Ranked

Yamoshi is one of the most mysterious Gods in the Dragon Ball mythos. The only known God in the Saiyan pantheon, legends state that Yamoshi was the man responsible for unlocking Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God. Not only that, it's strongly implied that he was the original Legendary Super Saiyan as well (perhaps making Broly a direct descendant). Despite setting the bar for power amongst Saiyans, Yamoshi has long since been surpassed.

While Yamoshi’s base form wasn’t particularly strong, Super Saiyan God would have raised him to divine levels. Very few Saiyans have managed to surpass Yamoshi in Dragon Ball, but those who have are among the most powerful beings in the multiverse. Some are even stronger than the Gods themselves – something Yamoshi could never claim for himself, even at his absolute strongest.

From the original Dragon Ball to DBZ and beyond, these sagas prove that the franchise is at its best when every fight feels like an event.

Personality-wise, Future Trunks is almost like a modern day Yamoshi. Both warriors desperately fought to change their world, but where Yamoshi failed (in the short-term, at least), Trunks actually succeeded. As a Hybrid Saiyan , Trunks has an amazing amount of potential, especially in the future timeline where he trains non-stop to make sure his world can never be threatened by the likes of Androids or Gods again.
