Disney Plus Officially Raises Prices Again

In what's become an annual tradition, Disney is raising the price of its Disney Plus streaming service. New prices rolled out on Wednesday and include a $2.50 hike on stand-alone Premium subscriptions to Disney Plus and Hulu. Other subscription options, including ad-supported tiers and bundles that pack in ESPN, are also going up.

Disney's latest price increases arrive one year to the day after the last round of price hikes were announced. Disney Plus' new price hike follows similar increases from Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV this year, as streaming services look to profitability over subscriber growth.

Effective immediately, Disney Plus costs $12.49 per month for the service's ad-supported tier and $21.49 per month ($214.99 annually) for Disney Plus Premium, which does not have ads. Perhaps the best option is to bundle Disney Plus with Hulu; the Premium subscription option costs $21.99 per month, 50 cents more than a stand-alone sub.

Here are the current bundle options for Disney Plus, Hulu, ESPN, and HBO Max:

Disney Plus launched in 2019, with just one tier. The streaming service, which includes content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, originally cost just $6.99 per month, or $69.99 per year. Disney has steadily raised the service's price (and offerings) in recent years, with annual price hikes coming over the past four years.

Disney's latest price hike arrives the same day that Toy Story 5 makes its Disney Plus streaming debut.
