It hasn't been long since Deadlock added the last of the six new heroes from the City Never Sleeps update, which also brought with it some massive changes to the map and overall atmosphere of the game. Just when we thought it was over, however, Valve has launched a massive new balance update that comes with a few spooky surprises for fans.
In addition to the Steam update nerfing several of the most problematic characters in the current meta like Solomon, Graves, and the Rat King, the final patch for October also comes with some asset replacements that turn the crates across the map into pumpkins, and even a cauldron that grants consumable candy items.
While the sugar rush buff obtained from breaking the cauldrons scattered across the Cursed Apple doesn't do much besides restoring some health and stamina, some players have discovered that you can feed them to certain environmental creatures like the troll under the bridge of Greenwatch in exchange for permanent buffs, as spotted by gabefollower on X.
You'll also notice that at the start of a match, all players will have their character wearing a randomly assigned mask to celebrate the season. On top of the limited pumpkins and cauldrons sprinkled across the city, some major gameplay updates have arrived as well, one of which significantly affects how Mid-Boss functions.
Here is everything you need to know about Deadlock's Matchmaking and Ranked mode updates.
Rather than a single crystal that spawns after 6 seconds, three crystals are placed evenly after a longer period, meaning one player can't just swoop in and steal it as easily, although more terrain and cover have been added to make fights more engaging in the arena.
