Chronicles: Medieval Developer 'At Real Risk of Closing' Before Release as Funding 'No Longer in Place'

Chronicles: Medieval developer Raw Power Games posted a chilling warning on its social media pages, warning that the studio might close before it can launch the Early Access version of its medieval open-world action/strategy sandbox because funding for the team is "no longer in place."

In a message on X (with a hat tip to Insider Gaming), Raw Power laid out its unfortunate predicament: "Due to circumstances outside our control, the necessary funding behind Raw Power Games is no longer in place. Without it we can't keep building Chronicles: Medieval, and right now the studio is at real risk of closing. We're not going to sugarcoat. You deserve to hear it plainly, and directly from us.

"What makes it hurt is how close we are," the message continued. "Early Access is within reach. The world we've been building for years is finally starting to feel alive, and we have so much we've been thrilled to show you. Every day in the studio – in Copenhagen and remote – we've seen people put everything they have into this game, often far beyond what anyone asked of them. They are the ones carrying the heaviest weight right now, and we couldn't be prouder of them. We don't know yet how this ends. But in the spirit of our game we're not going down without a fight!"

Chronicles: Medieval's Tom Hardy-narrated announcement trailer drew a lot of interest, netting more than 2 million views on IGN's YouTube channel . It was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, and we have since previewed it not once but twice .
