Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 Adds 6 New Maps, New Weapons, and a New DMZ Area

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's Season 1 details have been revealed, and a ton of new content is coming to the game.

Activision has confirmed that players can expect six new maps, including the return of Shoot House, in addition to new weapons, modes, events, and an expansion to the game's extraction mode, DMZ. Following the release of Shipment this week, Season 1 will debut with three maps starting on November 6. The maps will vary in weather, with one known as Backstab being set in a snowy village while another one known as Canyon will be set in a toasty desert. Shoot House has been reimagined to fit the game's Korean setting, but the overall layout that fans expect has remained intact.

The map was introduced back in Modern Warfare (2019) and has remained a fan favorite since its introduction for its tight design and powerful sightlines. Three other maps will be added throughout the season as well. Season 1 will also introduce a variety of new weapons, including a tomahawk and weapons that are clearly inspired by the FMG9 and AA-12 from old-school Modern Warfare titles. A gun known as the Cronen Osprey also appears to take inspiration from the CX9 from Modern Warfare (2019) or the Scorpion Evo from Black Ops 2.

There will also be new attachments/apex attachments to evolve your weapons, including a burst attachment for the M4, which will transform it into an M16. For DMZ enjoyers, a whole new part of the map has been unlocked, known as X01.
