Pokemon's 30th anniversary has given the franchise plenty of ways to celebrate its history, from revisiting classic games like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen to new products and collaborations, and the latest serves a specific type of fan. With three decades of Pokemon behind it, the anniversary continues to highlight how and why Pokemon is one of the biggest IPs in the entire world.
Much of that anniversary push has focused on the Pokemon that have remained popular across generations. Pikachu continues to be one of the franchise's most recognizable faces, while fan-favorite Pokemon like Gengar, Charizard, and Rayquaza have built their own followings over the years. The celebration has now expanded into another major part of pop culture, with Pokemon being used across a large, popular collection of lifestyle products and apparel.
A new farming RPG's Pokemon Snap-like mechanic makes it stand out from other games like Stardew Valley.
The Pokemon x Adidas 30th Anniversary collection is now available, featuring 14 individual shoes based on several Pokemon alongside a series of Pokemon-themed 8-Ball leather jackets. Most of the Pokemon Adidas shoes were released on September 22, with designs covering Pikachu, Mewtwo, Rayquaza, the Charmander evolution line, and the original Ghost-type trio of Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar. The full Pokemon x Adidas 30th Anniversary shoe lineup includes:
Each Pokemon gets its own visual treatment, with Pikachu shoes featuring details such as face badges, plush suede, ears on the tongue, and Pokeball-inspired elements. Mewtwo's shoes use purple detailing and character-specific touches, while Rayquaza's designs incorporate green, red, and yellow colors with scaly materials and shimmering details.
