A recent leak hints at a brand-new PlayStation game in development at Bend Studio, the creator of Days Gone, expected to be a co-op project launching in 2027. The PlayStation game will be the first new release from Bend Studio since the launch of Days Gone in 2019.
While Bend Studio has been largely quiet in recent years, the developer was once a mainstay on PlayStation consoles. As Eidetic and later under the Sony Computer Entertainment umbrella, Bend Studio helped to create the Syphon Filter series, which was met with critical acclaim and saw multiple Syphon Filter games on the PS1, PS2, and PSP. Bend Studio's last major release was the 2019 zombie action game Days Gone, which, despite receiving middling reviews from fans and critics, sold more than 7 million copies. Now, Bend Studio may be preparing a comeback with a brand-new game.
A new job listing from PlayStation suggests that Sony may be considering the implementation of dynamic pricing for its digital PS5 games.
Speaking to MP1st , an anonymous Bend Studio employee shed light on what the studio has been working on. The game is set to be a third-person, co-op experience that reportedly won't be a live-service title, with no mention of whether it will be a new IP or an adaptation. " The anonymous employee also hinted at the game's release window, claiming it will be both announced and released in 2027.
