Black Clover Creator Tabata Unveils Asta's New Strongest Weapon

Black Clover, a magical shonen series, follows the story of the main character, Asta, for over 10 years. Asta began his journey with no magic, but after acquiring his Five Clover Devilish Grimoire, he obtained one of the most overpowered abilities of all in the form of Anti-Magic. Anti-Magic allows Asta to cancel and nullify all mana-based abilities. However, to wield this power to its full potential, Asta needs an Anti-Magic weapon.

In the Black Clover story, Asta has possessed four main weapons, but out of these, the newest guidebook confirms that his very best is the Demon-Slasher Katana inherited from Yami. This katana grants him dimensional slicing powers and the ability to cut anything he wishes.

Asta, our main character in Black Clover, was first introduced in Black Clover Chapter 1 in 2015, released in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 12. While Asta's goal was always to be Wizard King, he did not possess the abilities to reach that rank at the beginning. That said, this went on to change in Chapter 2 of the series upon his acquisition of a mysterious five-leaf Clover Grimoire, said to host the Devil itself. This grimoire allowed Asta to use a great ability referred to as Anti-Magic. With Anti-Magic, Asta gained the ability to launch attacks that cancel out his enemy's mana-based abilities. This ability is quite broken, but to make appropriate use of it, Asta absolutely needs powerful weapons, and this is where the Anti-Magic weapons of Black Clover come in.
