If you're playing the Campaign, you will start with the Landspeeder until you beat Sebulba at the end of Act 1. After Act 1, you are free to pick between the Landspeeder, Speeder Bike, or the Skim Speeder. You can permanently unlock each vehicle for Tuning Points, which you will get for completing activities in Tours and Scenarios:

Even if you lose a Tour, you will still keep your vehicle and its upgrades as permanent unlocks. If you are playing in Multiplayer, these vehicles will all be unlocked by default.

I'd recommend the Landspeeder as the best vehicle in Star Wars: Galactic Racer , simply because it's a very balanced and reliable vehicle. The Landspeeder has the same speed as the Speeder Bike, with decent drift and cornering to manage tight turns. The reason the Landspeeder beats out the other vehicles is because of its size, so it can bully other vehicles and take them out without you crashing and being destroyed.
