The actor behind Captain Price in the Modern Warfare reboot series, Barry Sloane, has reacted to the positive reviews for Modern Warfare 4 and his role in it.
Earlier this week, those who pre-ordered the digital release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 were able to get access to the campaign early, ahead of its full October 23 release. With how maligned Black Ops 7 and Modern Warfare 3 were, it’s fair to say that most weren’t expecting much from the latest story mode.
I’m very happy to say that expectation was completely off the mark, as Modern Warfare 4’s campaign is being touted as one of the series’ best and up there with the original trilogy. A large part of that is thanks to another show-stealing performance from Barry Sloane as Captain Price, which the actor has been made very aware of.
Over on Twitter, Barry Sloane shared a post thanking fans for their “kind words”, which he says he sees and reads all of. The actor says that he’s “grateful” for everything that’s being said about the story mode so far, which has to be a nice change of pace after Modern Warfare 3 landed without any impact.
Captain Price and Ghost are at each other's throats in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
There’s another side to Sloane’s thank-you message, though, as he also asks fans to “allow people to enjoy the game in their own time”, and not to spoil it. Considering how many clips of the campaign’s biggest moments I’ve already seen flying around Twitter and YouTube without even looking for them, it might be a little too late.
