Disney has confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will be available earlier in certain international regions, including the United Kingdom. While this is great news for moviegoers in other parts of the world, it means that MCU fans in the United States will have to be extra careful to avoid spoilers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to premiere in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026. Because this was announced as the official release date, fans in regions such as the UK were surprised to see local Doomsday showtimes listed for Dec. 16.

Noticing the release date discrepancy, Digital Spy reached out to Disney, which confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will, in fact, be available in the United Kingdom from Dec. 16. It will premiere on a Wednesday rather than a Friday, so those planning to see it day one might now have to rethink their plans for the week. If there are midnight screenings, moviegoers in the UK could see the credits roll while it's still Tuesday in parts of the US.

It's actually a common practice for the MCU movies to be released in the UK a few days ahead of the US, so some fans were surely expecting this. Even if you're not in the UK, this change will still affect you indirectly. Until Dec. 18, fans in the US will have a much harder time dodging spoilers from fellow Marvel aficionados on the other side of the pond.

Given how dedicated MCU fans can be, it wouldn't be surprising if long-haul trips from the United States to the United Kingdom spiked that week.
