ARMSX3 just cloned the PS3’s UI, and it even supports PS3 theme files

TL;DR ARMSX3 v1.6 is out now, bringing an alternative home screen that recreates the PS3’s user interface.

The so-called XMB Mode supports PS3 themes and lets you access all major ARMSX3 settings.

Other recent updates have brought online multiplayer, the equivalent of Nintendo’s Download Play, and more.

ARMSX3 is the top PlayStation 3 emulator on Android at the moment, and the app previously let users boot up the PS3’s firmware to check out Sony’s XrossMediaBar (XMB) interface. Now, the development team is taking things a step further by offering a brand-new home screen based on the XMB.

ARMSX3 v1.6 was released on GitHub and the Play Store yesterday and now offers a so-called XMB Mode. This is an alternative home screen that recreates the PS3’s user-interface. It can be enabled by opening the side menu from the main home screen and tapping “XMB Mode.” The team adds that XMB Mode’s icons, words, fonts, startup sound, and more are taken from the PS3 firmware you’ve downloaded. You can even use PS3 theme files if you want.
