Amazfit’s forgotten smart ring just got a surprisingly big upgrade

TL;DR Amazfit is rolling out a new update for the Helio Ring, replacing Readiness with HybridCharge.

The update also improves heart rate accuracy and introduces automatic stress measurements every five minutes.

Amazfit’s 2026- 27 software roadmap reveals broader HybridCharge upgrades across its wearables and AI-powered insights coming to the Zepp app.

The Amazfit Helio Ring isn’t dead after all. While the company has been busy expanding its smartwatch and Helio Strap lineups, it has largely sidelined its original smart ring. That silence had some owners wondering whether Amazfit had quietly moved on. But a substantial new software update suggests the little wearable still has some life in it.

Multiple Reddit reports show that firmware version 2.9.0.1 is now reaching the Helio Ring, bringing a new approach to recovery tracking alongside improvements to heart rate and stress monitoring.
