Turning a manga into an anime is one of the most important decisions in any author's life. After all, it's a well-known fact that an anime adaptation is pivotal for a manga to reach a wider audience. The prospect of reaching a lot more people is appealing to the authors, which is why they agree to their work being turned into an anime.

In most cases, the risk pays off, and the anime is positively received by the audience. But in some cases, the studio makes some rather foolish choices that end up disrespecting the source material altogether. These choices are not just limited to straying away from the source material, but they also include lowering the quality of production.

It was a complete disaster. Yet it didn't stop the studio from churning out two whole seasons, one worse than the other. Currently, the future of the Berserk anime is in limbo, and it's highly unlikely to change in the coming years.
