Industries 5.0 startup Venttup has raised $3 million in a pre Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, and Unicorn India Ventures. The startup was incubated at Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM).
Venttup had previously raised a seed round from Unicorn India Ventures in September 2024.
The fresh capital will be used to expand the engineering team, invest in precision manufacturing facilities and rapid prototyping infrastructure, and adopt AI to improve B2B sourcing, supplier intelligence and operational efficiency, the company said in a press release.
Founded in 2022 by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal, Venttup is a B2B manufacturing company focused on the localisation and development of critical and precision components and subassemblies.
Through its Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) model, the company supports customers across engineering design, specification standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing, validation and contract manufacturing.
According to the Bengaluru-based startup, its capabilities include precision machining, casting and forging, sheet metal fabrication, box builds, special purpose machines, industrial automation, robotics and technology-enabled B2B sourcing. It combines in-house engineering capabilities with a network of MSME manufacturing partners to serve sectors such as energy, data centres, mobility, defence, aerospace and space.
Venttup is also setting up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to strengthen its rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing capabilities. The facility will support precision machining, turning and sheet metal production for applications in energy transition, defence, aerospace and space. It is expected to help shorten the time from component development and validation to production readiness and mass manufacturing.
