Gurugram-based premium grocery platform Solgram has raised over $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. Hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra also participated in the round.
The fresh capital will be used to expand its cold-chain infrastructure, strengthen its technology stack, deepen sourcing relationships and scale operations across the National Capital Region (NCR), Solgram said in a press release.
Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram operates a premium grocery platform focused on fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood and other temperature-sensitive products. The company aims to maintain product quality through an end-to-end temperature-controlled supply chain.
Its operations cover sourcing, quality inspection, storage, fulfilment and delivery. The company operates temperature-controlled stores with dedicated zones for different product categories, along with sealed thermal packaging and dedicated last-mile infrastructure.
Solgram's assortment includes fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood, bakery, gourmet pantry products and emerging food brands. It also offers Mindful Mode, a health-focused shopping category featuring products with cleaner labels, nutritional information and provenance details.
Currently operational in Gurugram, Solgram plans to expand across the NCR before entering other Tier-I cities in the coming months. The company said it intends to build operational density and consistency in individual clusters before expanding into new markets.
