Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, a provider of mental health, addiction and dementia care services, has raised Rs 28 crore in a Series A funding round led by Alkemi Growth Capital.
The fresh funds will be used to enter new geographies, expand clinical and staff capacity, develop specialised care programmes, and deepen insurance and corporate partnerships, Jagruti said in a press release.
The funding comes amid growing demand for structured mental health and rehabilitation services in India. However, the sector remains fragmented, with care largely delivered through standalone clinics and smaller independent establishments.
Founded by Amar Shinde, Vijaya Shinde and Hemant Shinde, Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre provides residential care for mental health conditions, addiction and dementia. The Pune-based organisation operates more than 19 centres across nine cities, with over 1,600 beds and a team of more than 40 doctors.
Jagruti plans to expand to over 40 centres and more than 4,000 beds across Tier I and Tier II cities over the next three to four years. The organisation claims to have treated more than 82,000 individuals.
Its centres are spread across cities including Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. The organisation offers programmes for mental health conditions, addiction and substance use disorders, and neurological care.
The investment expands Alkemi Growth Capital's exposure to healthcare delivery and adjacent segments. Its portfolio includes Redcliffe Labs in diagnostics, Medvital in medical devices, Datar Cancer Genetics in in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), Medulance in emergency medical response, Alphadroid in autonomous mobility robots, and Leumas in physical AI for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
