Peppermint Robotics, a Pune and Austin-based maker of autonomous cleaning robots, has raised Rs 100 crore (about $10.5 million) in a pre-Series B funding round led by pi Ventures and Crane Venture Partners, with participation from Asiana Fund.
The round comes about 19 months after Peppermint raised Rs 34 crore (about $4 million) in a Series A round in April 2025. That round was backed by Indian Angel Network, JDSS, Enrission India Capital and Vinners, and took the startup's total funding to Rs 49 crore at the time.
Its earlier backers include NKK Group, Venture Catalysts, Voxtur Ventures and SINE, the IIT Bombay incubator where the startup started.
Founded in 2019 by Runal Dahiwade, Peppermint designs and builds autonomous robots for commercial floor cleaning and material transportation.
The startup's robots work in factories, hospitals, airports, malls, warehouses, hotels and universities. The company mainly sells to facility management companies, which run cleaning operations for their clients and choose the equipment, chemicals and processes used.
Peppermint's current range includes the SD45 and SD20 floor scrubbers, the VC20 industrial vacuum, the MOP20 mopping robot, the SD20 CR cleanroom scrubber and an autonomous mobile robot for moving materials.
The startup develops its hardware, software and perception systems in-house and assembles its robots in Pune. The robots run on its proprietary Peppermint OS and use computer vision and LiDAR to map spaces, plan cleaning routes and avoid obstacles, while a cloud dashboard lets customers monitor them in real time. For sites with strict information security rules, it also offers robots that run fully offline.
