Bengaluru-based enterprise AI startup QwikBuild has raised $2.3 million (about Rs 22 crore) in a pre-seed round led by Tokyo-listed technology company Globalway, and is setting up a joint venture with its lead investor to sell its platform in Japan.
Blume Ventures, DeVC and Marsshot also took part in the round, along with angel investors Lalit Keshre, founder of Groww, and Ankit Nagori, CEO of Curefoods.
QwikBuild said it will use most of the fresh funding for go-to-market activities, including setting up a team in the US and expanding operations across Southeast Asia.
The joint venture with Globalway is expected to become operational by the end of 2026. It will offer QwikBuild's platform to Globalway's existing and prospective enterprise customers in Japan.
“We have been working together with Globalway to develop 'QwikBuild' into a service that meets the demands of the enterprise market, including Japan,” said Pradeep Ayyagari, founder and CEO of QwikBuild.
“Globalway's knowledge of Japanese companies' operations and system development has played a crucial role in the evolution of 'QwikBuild,'” he added. Through the joint venture, he said, the company hopes to “deliver 'QwikBuild' to Japanese companies and together pioneer a new era where business departments take the lead in creating systems”.
Masato Kakamu, chairman and CEO of Globalway, said, “ Japanese companies have long faced the challenge of system development requiring long periods of time and a large workforce, making it difficult to keep up with changes in business operations.
