Enterprise AI startup Ema raises $77 Mn in Series B led by Creaegis

Ema, an enterprise AI startup founded by former Google and Coinbase executive Surojit Chatterjee, has raised $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Creaegis.

The round saw participation from existing investors Accel, S32, Prosus Ventures, Hitachi Ventures and Wipro Ventures.

Founded in 2023, Ema develops AI employees for enterprise functions such as human resources, information technology and finance. The company claims its AI employees are deployed across some of the world’s largest organisations and handle millions of workflows daily.

Ema had previously raised $25 million in its first funding round in March 2024, led by Accel, S32 and Prosus Ventures. The round also saw participation from Wipro Ventures, Venture Highway, AME Cloud Ventures, Frontier Ventures, Maum Group and Firebolt Ventures. With the latest round, the startup has raised $140 million to date.

The latest funding will be used to expand Ema’s go-to-market operations, increase adoption among large enterprises and scale its AI employee platform across additional business functions.

Chatterjee said Ema continues to build around its belief that AI agents will change how enterprises use software by performing tasks rather than simply enabling employees to perform them.

The funding comes as enterprises explore AI agents and workflow automation to handle business processes across multiple software systems.
