Edtech startup byteXL has raised $9 million in its latest funding round led by Elevar Equity, with participation from existing investors Kalaari Capital and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
The latest round follows byteXL’s $5.9 million Series A raised in July 2024 from Kalaari Capital and the Dell Foundation.
The fresh capital will be used to expand its institutional network, strengthen its AI and technology platform, and develop new skilling programmes. byteXL also plans to invest in AI enabled learning and assessment, student analytics and personalised learning tools.
Founded by brothers Karun and Sricharan Tadepalli, byteXL works with engineering colleges, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, to provide technology and AI skills alongside regular academic education.
Its model combines industry aligned curriculum, practical learning, technology platforms and trained educators within college programmes.
The company claims 7,600 byteXL graduates were placed in IT and engineering roles last year. It currently reaches around 2 lakh students through 40 institutions and plans to expand to 120 institutions and 5 lakh students across 15 states over the next two years.
