Bakingo's revenue crosses Rs 400 Cr in FY26, losses double

India's online bakery market has grown beyond traditional birthday cakes, with customised desserts, premium baked goods and quick delivery becoming an increasingly important part of the celebration and gifting economy. Bakingo has tapped into this demand to build a business generating over Rs 400 crore revenue in FY26. However, higher operating costs continued to weigh on its bottom line, with the company's losses doubling to Rs 37 crore during the last fiscal year.

Bakingo’s revenue from operations grew by 35% year-on-year to Rs 405.8 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 300.3 crore in FY25, according to its consolidated financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies.

Founded in 2016 by Himanshu Chawla, Shrey Sehgal and Suman Patra, Bakingo operates an online bakery business offering a range of cakes and desserts, including cheesecakes, gourmet cakes and jar cakes. The company has a presence across 30-plus cities, supported by a network of over 100 kitchens and a catalogue of more than 100 products. Sales of these bakery products remained its sole source of revenue for the firm in FY26.

It also earned Rs 7.3 crore from interests on investments and fixed deposits, which pushed its overall income to Rs 413.65 crore in FY26.

For the bakery firm, raw material procurement for cakes and desserts remained its largest expense, accounting for over 43% of the total expenditure. This cost increased 40% year-on-year to Rs 194.45 crore in FY26 from Rs 138.7 crore in the previous fiscal year.
