You Can Now Book and Pay for Overseas Rides in Ringgit With TNG eWallet

TNG eWallet users can now book rides in 47 countries and pay in ringgit without downloading local ride-hailing apps.

Launched in partnership with Alipay+, the service covers more than 12,000 cities and connects users to local ride-hailing providers.

These include DiDi Travel and AMap in China, Kakao T in South Korea and GO in Japan.

Other supported providers include Bolt in the European Union and Lyft in the United States and Canada.

Users can pay using their existing TNG eWallet balance, with fare estimates displayed before booking confirmation.

The feature adds to TNG eWallet’s existing travel services, including eSIM plans, travel deals and cross-border payments.

35 percent of TNG eWallet users have accessed at least one travel-related service within the app.

“Malaysians are already using TNG eWallet to prepare and pay for their trips.

Overseas ride hailing addresses one of the first practical needs after they land: getting around without setting up another app or payment method.”

Users can book a ride by searching for “Ride Hailing Overseas” in TNG eWallet, entering their pickup and drop-off locations and selecting a vehicle type.

Users travelling in China can also search for “DiDi Travel” within the app.

First-time DiDi Travel users must register using their Malaysian mobile number (+60) before booking.
