Thunes and UnionPay Raise Daily Payout Limit to US$10,000 in China

Thunes has expanded its partnership with UnionPay International to enable instant payouts of up to US$10,000 daily per recipient cardholder in mainland China.

The service allows financial institutions, payment service providers and money transfer operators to send funds directly to UnionPay cards across 79 major Chinese banks.

These include Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China and China Construction Bank.

The expanded service targets payment corridors including Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and the United States.

The higher daily limit allows customers to send larger amounts without splitting transfers across multiple days or undergoing manual processing.

The arrangement links Thunes’ Direct Global Network with UnionPay’s infrastructure through a single API, giving network members access to UnionPay cardholders in mainland China.

“By enabling high-capacity, direct-to-card payouts into China’s mainland, we are breaking down legacy barriers in one of the world’s most dynamic payment corridors.

Unlocking these higher transaction limits supports the growth of our Members, empowering financial institutions everywhere to scale their cross-border flows into China with unmatched speed and compliance.”
