Banks using Aqua Global can now access foreign exchange liquidity and cross-border payment services across more than 140 currencies through a new integration with StoneX, as financial institutions look to expand international payment capabilities without the cost and complexity of building their own infrastructure.
The London-based financial technology provider has integrated StoneX Group’s payment and FX network into its Aquila financial messaging and transaction automation platform through a direct API connection. The arrangement gives institutions a plug-and-play route to global payment services, reducing the integration work typically involved in connecting to international banking networks.
The partnership combines Aqua Global’s transaction automation technology with StoneX’s global payments infrastructure and FX liquidity. Both companies expect the integration to help financial institutions simplify payment workflows, improve execution efficiency and extend their reach into new markets.
Aqua Global CEO Cian Fernando said, “This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering seamless, end-to-end FX and payments solutions for global financial institutions.
“We’re proud to join forces with StoneX, which brings extensive global market access and deep foreign exchange expertise, making them an ideal partner as we continue to simplify cross-border payments and help clients operate more efficiently.”
StoneX global head of StoneX Payments Thiago Vieira added, “This partnership reflects our commitment to meeting banks where they are – not just in terms of market access, but in how easily they can plug into our infrastructure.
“By working with Aqua Global, we’re enabling their existing institutions to access StoneX’s global payments and FX capabilities faster, with minimal integration lift, unlocking efficiency and reach in over 180 markets.”
