The company on Sunday (Oct. 18) announced World ID for banking and finance, designed to help businesses determine whether artificial intelligence agents are moving money and shopping on behalf of an actual person.
World’s AgentKit, now in beta, lets a person delegate World ID Proofs to an AI agent, which can then show those Proofs to a website or service without revealing the person’s information, the company said in a news release provided to PYMNTS.
“For a merchant or financial institution, that offers a way to distinguish an AI agent connected to a verified human from anonymous automated traffic that some sites are now blocking,” the release said. “World sees this as trust infrastructure for transactions and other sensitive requests as AI agents take on more work for consumers.”
World is also rolling out World ID for Zoom, available in the Zoom App Marketplace, and designed to tackle “a different version of the same trust problem, whether the person who shows up for a “consequential video meeting” is the right human participant.
Following a one-time verification with the company’s Orb, participants can authenticate before or during a call with a live selfie.
